Massage FAQs

A: If you arrive early at the It's All About Energy Office, you will find a comfortable waiting room where you can stay until your appointment time. If you arrive at your appointment time, you will be taken into the office. It is a large comfortable room with a large comfortable chair for you to sit in.

You will be asked to fill out an intake form. This form asks contact information and questions that will help me know how best to massage you such as questions about your health, medications you may be on, what you would like the focus of your massage to be.

You will be shown where to put your clothing, and I will leave the room to wash my hands and get ready for the massage. You will be asked to disrobe to your point of comfort and get on the table as instructed and cover yourself with the sheet and/or blanket (your point of comfort is where you are comfortable. For the most effective massage, especially if you suffer from lower back pain, full disrobing is best, but some people choose to leave their underpants on). YOU WILL NEVER BE TOTALLY UNCOVERED. You will always be modestly draped by the sheet. Only the parts I am working on will be exposed. You will NEVER have your breast or sexual parts exposed or touched.

A typical session includes massage of the back, gluteal muscles (bottom), head, arms, legs, feet, hands, neck, shoulders. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of a gluteal massage, let me know and we will skip that part.

I will use oil on your body. I use only 100 jojoba oil which is considered hypo allergic. If you are allergic to it, I have other hypo allergic choices. Essential oils can be added to your massage at an additional charge if you request. (please let me know if you want an essential oil when booking as I have to be sure not to book any allergic clients that same day)

The room will be dimmed a bit and there will be relaxing music playing during the massage to help you relax. If you do not like the music, please tell me so I can change it, or you can bring your own music too.

When the massage is complete I will leave the room to go wash up and allow you time to get up and get dressed. Sit up slowly to be sure you are not light headed (as this can happen) then get dressed. There will be a bottle of cold water for you in the fridge. Please take one or two as you like. It is important to drink water after a massage.

A: Yes, perfectly find. I can adjust just about any massage to what you need or want when you arrive. The only exception is the hot stone massage. It can take hours of monitoring to heat the stones to the correct temperature so if you book a hot stone massage and change your mind I will still have to charge for one. If you did not book one and wish one at the last minute, I cannot do it because the stones will not be heated in time.

A: That is impossible to say without a physical assessment. On average, many people find that having 3 visits at a short interval (such as once a week, or once every two weeks) will give them a longer lasting relief and help gage a good future treatment plan. Of course, some people come in just when they feel they need it.

A: I have massaged children as young as 6 days old. When working with infants, I teach the mother how to massage the baby in one visit. Then she does it on their own at home as often as she likes. This is a great bonding experience. Depending on the need and age of the child, the massage is usually about 30 minutes long. The parent stays in the room with the child to lend a sense of security to the child.

A: There are some side infrequent effect of massage that will go away quickly. Some (not all) will feel light headed after a massage. This corrects it self quickly, especially if you drink water right after the massage. Some people may experience some minor soreness in the muscles hours after a deep tissue massage, but this should be gone before the next day and you will feel better than ever before.

A:Yes. For those who are not comfortable without their clothing, I offer 20 minute chair massage sessions as well as 20 minute foot massage sessions. These are great options!

Reiki FAQs

A: No, not at all. Although I might as you to remove large pieces of metal jewelry or watches and glasses before a session.

A: No. There are no known side effect of Reiki.

A:Yes. There are no restrictions or limits on who can have Reiki. All ages, any health, even pets can have reiki.

A: There are several different branches of Reiki. Some schools of reiki teach to keep your hands off the person's body. Others teach that you should touch for fuller contact. I most often touch, but if the energy block is in an area (such as the breast) that should not be touched, I will hold my hands over the area.

A: This is a sad development. It shows that whoever made this decision did not understand what Reiki is. Reiki is not based on any religion. It has no pagan base, nor does it have any other religious basis. Reiki is based on the fact that God, through the life force given us all, can use us to heal each other. This is a wonderful and beautiful truth. It is sad that because of the limited and perhaps insecure view of a few men, thousands of Catholics who benefited from Reiki in Catholic hospitals across the globe are now suffering its loss. It is my hope that with time and with a little help from God, the Catholic church will reverse this decision.

Vibrational Resonance Energy Healing FAQs

A: VREH is a powerful method of adjusting the energy flow through the body. It removes blockages in the energy flow cased by everything from traumas to illness. Through the use of crystals and tuning forks, energy pathways are fine tuned, cleared and attuned to the correct frequency the person requires to feel their best.

A: The client is made comfortable on my well padded massage table. The energy field around the client is read, then hands on energy movement takes places. This is very much like Reiki. This identifies trouble points and areas that need clearing. If the person is clear, it identifies areas that can be grown to new levels. With almost 100 working crystals to choose from, I examine the energy pattern of the client's body and place the appropriate crystals over vital energy pathways or energy blockages (as need be) in order to create a "healing layout" on the body. As the crystals do their work, another energy movement cycle takes place. Then, using a large collection of precision tuning forks, various forks are applied to energy points on the body to clear blockages, tune the frequencies and heal body tissue.

A: Many people feel an amazing sense of emotional release during sessions (particularly first sessions) as charks are realigned and energy begins to flow correctly for the first time in many years. For many there is a profound change. Most people feel such joy and release from the heavy burden of the negative energy that they report even feeling physically lighter when the session is over.

A: Some people feel a sense of weightlessness directly after a session for a few moments. A few have reported feelings of being very hot or very cold for an hour or so after an session as the energy settles. There are no dangerous side effects.

Hypnosis FAQs

A: This can't happen. I assure you there is not one hospital in the world that has a hypnotist in the ER in case someone comes in stuck under hypnosis. In fact, if you were hypnotized and the hypnotist stopped talking, it would take lest than 2 minutes before you realized something was wrong and woke yourself up.

A: No. Despite what TV shows want you to believe, hypnosis is not a truth serum. Anything you would not tell when you are awake, you would not tell while hypnotized.

A: This is one of the many myths about hypnosis. In truth, a hypnotist cannot make you do anything you do not really want to do. You must have the will to be hypnotized and to follow through. In fact, if you are a weak-minded or "stupid" individual, you may not be able to be hypnotized at all. The smarter you are, the better your ability to visualize, thus the better your ability to be hypnotized.

A:Yes, using the correct techniques, children as young as 4 or 5 years old can be hypnotized. And it is great for stopping of nail biting, bed wetting, night frights and more childhood issues.

A: I always respect the beliefs of my clients. I understand that some of the work I do is outside the beliefs of others and would never force any of it on anyone else. There is no reason to mix hypnosis to help someone stop smoking and pass life regression. I would never do that. I respect everyone's path. To that end, my office is in a very respectable building and is very conventional and professionally comfortable.

A: Yes. It works very well. As a matter of fact, hypnosis has been recognized by the AMA as a viable treatment option since 1958.
